Babies: Sleep? Never heard of it!

I will never understand the term “sleeping like a baby”. Ok so you woke up every 2 hours to pee, poo, get a boob in your mouth and get wrapped into a human burrito?  Oh yeah, that sounds peaceful 😅

While I love getting to spend so much time with my daughter, sometimes the thought of a full overnight sleep through seems pretty magical. I should consider myself lucky in the fact that Sofià has moved to every two hours instead of every hour! And to top it all of I haven’t had a red bull since I got pregnant. Coffee is making a pretty good substitute though. Haha.

I know there are methods of trying to get your baby into a routine but for us, I think just letting her set out her own routine is what is going to work. And just appreciate all the time I get with her because they grow up wayyyy to fast and you can never get a single second back.

The funny thing is, if you don’t have children you just can’t even comprehend the tiny amount of sleep we get through the day on. But then also the amount of love we receive from these amazing little people. Being a mother is the best thing that has ever happened to me, I feel lucky everyday. 😁

Question for other mamas; if you let your baby set their own routine, how long did they take to sleep for longer bursts? Do you regret not getting them into a routine from the start? 💋

I never got my kiddo on a scheduled. We tried and failed. Lol. So I just let him get tired enough until he starts rubbing his eyes and try to put him down. I’m still trying to figure him out. He’s always been a high needs baby.

Just turned 11 months on the 8th. He still requires mommy to put him down for a nap. He does sometimes fall asleep on his own but it’s very rare. At least I know it’s possible so I’m very hopeful for the future. lol.

I demand fed and let my babe run the show. Only thing I did consistently was the same thing before every day sleep (swaddle, kiss and cuddle, night night & into bed) and bedtime routine the same (bath, boob, swaddle, kiss & cuddle then into bed). She was always a 40min napper until about 6months of age. She now has 2x2hr day sleeps every day 😊 there is hope!

Oh wow 2 2 hour sleeps that’s amazing! We’re currently going through a rough patch with sleep so that sounds so good to me right now haha.
